Ngatai’s new exhibition presents a survey of key works from the past 12 years. He has focused almost exclusively on celebrating and recouperating kowhaiwhai designs but with a 21st century edge – using computer-generated imagery, digital routers, acrylic laminates, stencils on PVC pipes and steel, and digitally carved treated plywood.
