Darryn George is a painter of Ngāpuhi heritage. He was born in 1970 and lives and works in Christchurch where he is Head of Art Christ’s College.

He has shown his paintings in major public exhibitions at Christchurch City Gallery, Govett Brewster, Wellington City Gallery, Auckland City Gallery and Te Papa. His paintings are represented in important private and public collections throughout New Zealand and overseas-Te Papa, The Hague, UN building New York, Supreme Court New Zealand, Auckland Art Gallery, Christchurch Art Gallery. He has completed numerous commissions including the Large Glass for Deutsche Bank Head office New Zealand, and ‘Whakapai’ for Connells Bay Sculpture Park. He exhibited in the 2013 Venice Biennale at the Palazzo Bembo as part of the Personal Structures official collateral events.
