Kelcy Taratoa lives in Tauranga, where he works as an artist, cultural designer/consultant, and Ngā Toi Māori Navigator at Creative Bay of Plenty. Taratoa holds a Master’s degrees from Massey University. 

Taratoa has previously served as a judge for provincial and national art awards.   
He has exhibited extensively in museums and public galleries throughout Aotearoa New Zealand and aboard. His work is held in private, corporate and public collections in Aotearoa New Zealand and aboard.
